MAP OF CAUVERY BASIN

This map provides all the CWC Hydro metrological sites under Cauvery Basin along with 43 Real Time Water Level monitoring telemetry stations. 


Major Dams placed in the map are 

1. Tamilnadu - Mettur, Bhavanisagar, Amaravathy
2. Karnataka - KRS, Kabini, Hemavathy, harangi
3. Kerala - Banasurasagara

Cauvery Division Bengaluru Flood Appraisal Report 2021-22

The Cauvery Division consist of 47 hydrological observation sites including 46 Discharge sites and 1 gauge site on the main Cauvery basin, Tungabhadra, Ghataprabha, Malaprabha sub-basin of Krishna and three sub-basins (Kajvi, Gad & Mandovi) on Tapi &Tadri basin covering most parts of Karnataka, as well as part of Maharashtra, Goa and Kerala. In addition to this, 32 telemetry stations come under the jurisdiction of Cauvery Division. The telemetry stations include 21 rainfall & water level stations and 11 exclusive rainfall stations. Six telemetry stations are on reservoirs/dams. The jurisdiction of this Division covers some of the flood prone areas of the country. The overall magnitude of floods in the rivers under this Division during the flood season 2021 is estimated as “Normal” considering that above normal floods have been observed in the rivers in Cauvery basin and Krishna Basin.
